Culture

Meran, a spa town for over 150 years, is not only South Tyrol's most traditional congress town, but also a city of music, culture and pleasure. The beautiful Kurhaus, built in Art Nouveau style, with the spacious Kursaal and the Pavillon des Fleurs is the perfect setting for numerous meetings, congresses, concerts, trade fairs, gala dinners, celebrations and dance events.
Art and culture lovers also like to visit the electoral castle, the city museum of Meran, the women's museum "Evelyn Ortner", the "Kunst Meran", the touriseum "Schloss Trauttmansdorff", the wine-growing museum Schloss Rametz.

These are the museums in South Tyrol that are best known far beyond its borders MMM - Messners Mountain Museum in front of Bolzano and that Ötzi Museum also in Bolzano. "Do not miss it!"

Experience nature actively

In and around Merano you will find countless opportunities for active leisure activities such as the summer and winter promenade, countless panorama and Waal paths. Mountaineers and climbers will find their fun in the Texel Group Nature Park, on Merano 2000 on the small and large Ifinger or on the "Heini Holzer Klettersteig" with a time investment of 3-4 hours.

To go biking

.. is very important in Meraner Land. Mountain bikers put their endurance and ability to the test on easier or more difficult tours. South Tyrol's network of cycle paths extends from the Reschen and Brenner Passes to Bolzano and Trento. That means you take your bike with you on the train and drive to the Brenner or Mals and then cycle comfortably to Merano.
